We use the Ramblers Association grading system for our walks. For more details see this page . If you have a query regarding a particular event then please contact the event leader direct (all email addresses must be edited to remove anti-spam before use), though more general queries should be directed to me. I hope you find our events enjoyable and we always welcome feedback.

Please come and join me on my first walk as a Leader it would be great to see you there. This is a circular walk starting at Hawkley Village Green near the Church which is an undulating walk with some great views. Just to let you know that if it has been raining on the days prior to the walk it will be very wet and muddy in places.

A weekend of walks in the lovely Dove valley led by One Step Walkers (40s walking group for Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire & Staffordshire) staying in stone cottages!

The mixed woods of Godshill enclosure, the pretty village at Woodgreen and the glorious views across the Millersford valley are among the attractions of this walk in one of the lesser known corners or The New Forest.

Shawford and Hursley - Saturday 26th May

From Shawford, this walk follows the Itchen Navigation canal then climbs up through Otterbourne Park Wood to Otterbourne Hill Common, before meandering through Cranbury Park to Ladwell. It then descends to Hursley - for a possible brief stop at the Dolphin. The return leg is via part of the Monarch's Way, through Silkstead and Compton Down.

It is also possible to bring a campervan/caravan (cost £7 per person per night). Spaces are limited and will go on a first in, first served basis. Register in the members-only area. You can stay 2 to 4 nights. Full payment is required by 4 May. Members of other 40s walking groups will be joining us. There will be walks organised along the coast and also inland (eg Watersmeet).

KIMMERIDGE BAY TO KINGSTON, CIRCULAR WALK. - Sunday 3rd June

Kimmeridge is an area of outstanding natural beauty on the Jurassic coast. We start the walk by climbing high up onto the cliff tops and then continuing on the costal path to Kingston. For the return journey we climb even higher onto the ridge path which surrounds the area, giving magnificent views into the valley and out to sea.

Logistics: Refreshments and toilet available at Clavell's cafe, then we move the cars to the long stay park, £5 per car for all day parking. The walk will be at a Moderate pace to suit all but as there is several steep climbs so a reasonable level of fitness is needed. Please bring a packed lunch. Plesse note 11.30am meet time.

This is a fine walk on open and wooded landscape which includes a few hills. On the return journey we will be going through Stansted Park, now home to the 10th Earl of Bessborough.

The Flora Thompson Trail - Saturday 9th June

This walk starts at Grayshott, visiting Waggoners Wells, Bramshott, Griggs Green, Liphook, Ludshott Common and Superior Camp. Flora Thompson author of Lark Rise to Candleford and this would have been one of Flora's walks when she was a sub-postmistress in Grayshott and later postmaster's wife in Liphook. This walk is very varied and can be muddy in places.

From Shawford we follow the Itchen towards Winchester, alongside the old Winchester Bypass (1939-1994), once choked with traffic now returned to nature. Then we go up the hill past The Black Boy towards Chilcomb, routeing around the rifle ranges and on to Cheesefoot Head. From here we return to Shawford via Twyford.

The tribute bands on the 16th June are Karen Carpenter, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Village People, Black eyed Peaz, Abba, Thin Lizzy, Shawaddywaddy and Madness. Last year seating was outside in the garden. There is a bar and restaurant and BBQ. The day finishes about 22.30. Tickets can be booked online see website for details. This is a circular walk from Beech Community Centre, near Alton into the countryside. We walk past Theddon Grange, through Bentworth, Lower Wield and Wivelrod. Lovely rolling countryside, tracks and woods.

This is a circular walk starting at Acres Down. We'll visit the Reptile Centre and Deer Sanctuary (both free). The walk takes in lots of lovely views along the way, not one to be missed. You MUST register in advance to join me on this walk.

Logistics: We're returning to the same venue that our 2011 party was held. There will be a three course meal and disco into the early hours. The dancing will be in the larger room this year :0). It will cost £41 each (more if you select the beef and cheese courses). You will be advised where to send deposits within a week of registering, we need to pay a hefty sum to the hotel by late May so please pay promptly otherwise we may have to cancel this. All deposits would be returned if this happened. It would be appreciated if you would pay the full amount now if possible to increase our chances of securing this excellent venue.
