Chairman

Liz - Chair

The Chair is responsible for the general direction of the group, as well as ensuring that everyone else is doing what they are supposed to! Liz chairs the committee meetings and represents the group in the broader Ramblers context on the area committee. Liz is a keen walker and celebrated her 40th birthday year climbing Kilimanjaro!.

Clive - Membership

I stumbled on the Hants 40+ walking group by chance in the autumn of 2009 when they were out on their very first trial walk. I was so taken by the group's friendliness and enthusiasm that after looking them up on the internet I tagged along on my first walk that November. It blew a chilly gale and the rain came down in bucketfuls! Since then, I've spent many happy miles with the group - sharing excellent company while wandering through beautiful landscapes, often in glorious weather. I'm now enjoying leading walks as often as I can, which is very rewarding - and as Membership Secretary I do my best to encourage and help would-be walkers to get walking and join the group. Secretary

Alex - Secretary

The secretary organises the meetings of the committee four times a year and deals with any correspondence

Socials

Rob - Socials

The social secretary is responsible for ensuring the group has a varied programme of social activities such as group meals, pub visits, theatre trips and other activities
Treasurer

Simon - Treasurer

The treasurer is responsible for overseeing the groups finances. This involves producing the annual budget and accounts which are submitted to the RA each year, and maintaining the bank account and financial records of the group
Trips Away

Carl - Trips away

Co-ordinate the trips away that members plan, so that they spread evenly throughout the year and do not clash. Carl offers assistance and advice in respect of planning trips and monitors progress. He also manages the group membership of organisations which are used in conjunction with trips away such as the YHA. A large part of the role is to encourage members to organise trips away. Many of our members are from other parts of the country and can bring their knowledge and experience from home in this.

Marie - Walks planning

Aims to ensure a full and varied walks programme for the group through encouraging people to submit walks and moderating and approving any walks submitted.

Phil - Technology

Phil is responsible for keeping all the groups technology working and looking for ways to integrate new technologies such as Facebook and Twitter to improve the operation of the group and ensure everyone has fun..
